Edits by Amber is a freelance copyediting business spearheaded by Amber Rhodes. Her goal is to help writers refine their work to help them meet their goals. She offers developmental editing, line editing, heavy editing, proofreading, and beta reading.
Amber came to me in need of a brand identity system and a website. I proposed a sophisticated yet playful brand identity that would separate her from competitors and set a welcoming tone. The mascot logo paired with a juxtaposing typography wordmark was essential for achieving this. Not only is Amber featured as the mascot, the color scheme is inspired by her colorful hair experiments. The website design process involved pinpointing the need of the user, developing a wireframe, and designing custom graphics and illustrations. These graphics bring to life the copyediting process through digital collage - mixing photography, vector graphics and illustration.
